Responsibilities

Ability to own the end-to-end architecture of data flowing from Snowflake into marketing platforms (Eloqua initially, Adobe AEP in the future)
Experience defining and enforcing data contracts, schemas, and versioning standards
Strong understanding of downstream marketing activation requirements and platform constraints
Understand, or rapidly develop understanding of, Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) and future marketing platforms, specifically how data architecture decisions impact performance, scalability, and usability of those platforms
Ability to assist with design and operation of a formal marketing data governance model
Experience establishing approval processes for new pipelines and data changes into marketing tools
Acts as an architectural consultant for analysts building pipelines, ensuring:
Adherence to data standards and contracts
Compatibility with existing data models and tools
Safe adoption of new ETL and activation technologies
Defines and enforces data quality standards (completeness, accuracy, freshness)
Implements validation, reconciliation, and monitoring to prevent regressions or breaking changes
Authority to approve, block, or require remediation for data changes that introduce risk
Deep expertise with Snowflake for marketing use cases
Strong understanding of data modeling, performance considerations, access controls, and cost awareness
Ability to evaluate upstream data readiness for downstream marketing activation
Hands-on experience with ETL and reverse ETL tools, with SnapLogic preferred
Strong understanding of mapping logic, scheduling, failure handling, and monitoring
Ability to influence ETL design and configuration in partnership with IT teams
Experience designing data flows that respect downstream system constraints
Experience architecting data for marketing automation and/or CDP platforms (e.g., Eloqua, Adobe AEP)
Understanding of contact and account models, extensible objects, and segmentation use cases
Ability to design scalable data models that support future-state marketing platforms
Advanced SQL proficiency
Strong data modeling fundamentals, including dimensional and marketing-friendly schemas
Ability to translate enterprise data into usable structures for activation and orchestration
Ability to influence the design of data before it reaches Snowflake
Experience challenging upstream data assumptions that limit downstream marketing use cases
Strategic mindset for improving data quality at the source, not just downstream
Proven ability to influence technical teams without formal authority
Comfortable leading architecture discussions and design reviews
Skilled at professionally challenging designs that create downstream risk
Ability to clearly articulate architectural tradeoffs and risks to leadership
Highly self-sufficient and self-directed
Thrives in ambiguity while operating within a defined architectural vision
Proactively identifies problems and proposes solutions without waiting for direction
Makes low-risk, reversible technical decisions independently
Creates structure, standards, and documentation where none exist
Not responsible for campaign execution or day-to-day marketer support
No people management responsibilities
BI/reporting and Customer Data Platform ownership are acceptable but not primary focus areas
On-call or reactive work is secondary, not core to the role
