InternWichita State University is seeking a Data Science Student Assistant to support the Advanced Technologies Lab for Aerospace Systems. The role involves carrying out administrative and technical tasks, assisting with data collection and software development, and mentoring other students.

Responsibilities
Assist in collecting data with ATLAS software applications
Assist with software development on various applications
Build, test, and deploy predictive models and machine learning algorithms
Perform data analysis on different collected datasets
Maintain clear documentation of methodologies, experiments, and results
Continuously monitor model performance and retrain as necessary
Qualification
Required
Access to EAR or ITAR controlled technologies
Eligible for employment under U.S. export control laws
Must be a U.S. Citizen
High school diploma or equivalent
Currently a student at Wichita State University majoring in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and C#
Ability to use SQL and work with relational databases
Experience in version control systems (Git)
Experience with machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, TensorFlow, XGBoost)
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences
Ability to remain in a stationary position
Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment including but not limited to phone, printers, copiers, and calculators
Ability to communicate with others and accurately exchange information
