Research Specialist / TSRI - Stem Cell Core / Full-time / Days

Responsibilities

Assists faculty and staff in designing and implementing research projects
Independently plans, prepares, and conducts a wide variety of routine and non-routine (complex) laboratory procedures
Oversees multiple projects at a time
Records, tabulates, and analyzes data and assists with and provides expertise in the preparation of papers, posters, and scientific publications
Assists in training laboratory personnel

Required

Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field
5 or more years of experience performing independent laboratory research experiments
Master's degree (or higher) in a related scientific field (e.g., biology, microbiology, biochemistry, psychology)
3 or more years of experience performing independent laboratory research experiments
Extensive experience in cell culture techniques
Hands-on work with induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs), including: Maintenance of iPSC lines, expansion and scaling of cultures, and differentiation into specific cell types
Strong understanding of stem cell biology and reprogramming methodologies
Ability to perform quality control (QC) and maintain detailed documentation
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple research teams
Flexibility and willingness to learn new techniques as the Core evolves
Teaching and training experience
Bachelor's degree in a related scientific field (e.g., biology, microbiology, biochemistry, or psychology) required; stem cell biology and regenerative medicine fields desirable

Preferred

Technical proficiency in: Immunostaining and microscopy, and flow cytometry, including sample preparation and data analysis
Experience with gene editing techniques (e.g., CRISPR/Cas9) to support future expansion of Stem Cell Core capabilities
Familiarity with basic molecular biology workflows and lab automation tools
Hands-on experience with quantitative PCR (qPCR), and DNA, RNA, and protein isolation
Proven dedication to training excellence
