Inside Higher Ed is seeking an Adjunct Faculty member for the Paralegal program at East Texas A&M University. The role involves managing online courses, teaching paralegal students, and developing course materials while ensuring compliance with department standards.

Responsibilities

Manage online courses
Teach courses via online live lecture to paralegal students
Develop and manage the class syllabus and ensure that the syllabus meets department and college standards
Plan and create lectures, in-class discussions, and assignments
Assess grades for students based on participation, performance in class, assignments, and examinations
Assist/mentor students as needed
Attend online paralegal program faculty meetings
Other duties as assigned

Required

Education: Juris Doctorate
Experience: Three years of experience practicing law. Must have previous experience working with paralegals/legal assistants
Knowledge / Skills: Must be knowledgeable and remain current in the subject matter of assigned courses. Demonstrate excellent oral and written communication skills to facilitate instruction in classes and engagement with students
Ability to: Multi-task and work cooperatively with others. Have the ability to learn online platforms and conduct virtual meetings with students
Licensing/Professional Certifications: Licensed by a state bar

Preferred

Prior College or University teaching experience or other teaching experience related to the legal field
Evidence of teaching excellence
Online or hybrid teaching experience
