The Mechanical Engineering Intern will support the Maintenance & Asset Management Department in ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the mine's concentrator facility equipment, gaining hands-on experience in mechanical systems and preventive maintenance.

Responsibilities
Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
Support root cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend corrective actions
Collect and analyze operational data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
Participate in reliability improvement projects, including equipment upgrades and process optimization
Prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation for maintenance activities
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and company standards during all tasks
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including operations, reliability, and safety personnel
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualification
Required
Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Mechanical Engineering or related field
Basic understanding of industrial mechanical systems and maintenance principles
Proven work ethic, reliability, and willingness to take initiative
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Commitment to safety and attention to detail
Preferred
Completed coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, materials science, and machine design preferred
Familiarity with AutoCAD or SolidWorks is a plus
