R.W. Mercer Co. is seeking an experienced and highly skilled ServiceNow Lead Engineer to lead the design, development, and optimization of ServiceNow solutions in a fully remote environment. This role involves providing technical leadership and ensuring scalable, secure, and high-performing ServiceNow implementations aligned with business objectives.

Responsibilities

Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of ServiceNow solutions across multiple modules
Provide technical leadership and guidance to ServiceNow developers and administrators
Translate business requirements into scalable, maintainable ServiceNow solutions
Oversee development of workflows, integrations, custom applications, and automation
Ensure adherence to ServiceNow best practices, coding standards, and platform governance
Design and manage integrations using REST/SOAP APIs, MID Servers, and third-party tools
Support platform upgrades, enhancements, and performance optimization initiatives
Collaborate with stakeholders, product owners, and cross-functional teams to deliver solutions
Conduct code reviews and ensure solution quality, security, and compliance
Troubleshoot complex platform issues and lead root-cause analysis efforts
Stay current with ServiceNow releases, features, and industry best practices

Required

Must be located in the United States
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of ServiceNow development and engineering experience
2+ years in a lead, senior, or technical leadership role
Strong experience with ServiceNow modules such as ITSM, ITOM, ITAM, CMDB, HRSD, or CSM
Proficiency in JavaScript, Glide API, Business Rules, UI Policies, Flow Designer, and Script Includes
Hands-on experience with ServiceNow integrations and data imports
Strong understanding of ServiceNow architecture, performance tuning, and security
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
Ability to lead and collaborate effectively in a fully remote environment

Preferred

ServiceNow certifications (e.g., CSA, CAD, CIS)
Experience with ServiceNow App Engine Studio and low-code/no-code development
Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments
Exposure to cloud platforms, identity management, or enterprise IT systems
