CPG Data Analyst
Consumer Edge is the leading provider of consumer data for major financial firms and corporations. They are seeking a CPG Data Analyst to design and implement household panel methodologies, ensuring data accuracy and representativeness across various dimensions while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
Design and implement household panel weighting schemes using demographic, geographic, and behavioral attributes
Develop projection algorithms to scale panel observations to universe estimates (U.S. households, CPG categories)
Create panel balancing logic to ensure representativeness across key dimensions (income, age, household size, geography, shopping channels)
Handle data fusion challenges: integrating various datasets
Build attrition models and develop strategies to maintain panel health over time
Create comprehensive QA frameworks to validate panel accuracy against known benchmarks (Census, syndicated sources)
Develop ongoing monitoring for panel bias, coverage gaps, and data quality issues
Design margin-of-error calculations and confidence interval methodologies for customer-facing outputs
Build auditable documentation of all methodological decisions and assumptions
Write production-quality code (SQL, Python/R) to implement panel calculations at scale
Work with engineering teams to productionize panel processing pipelines
Optimize computational efficiency for panel generation across large transaction datasets
Create automated reporting on panel health metrics and statistical properties
Author customer-facing white papers explaining Consumer Edge panel methodology
Prepare technical responses to RFPs and customer methodology questions
Support sales cycles where customers challenge panel accuracy or methodology
Partner with Product Manager on commercial packaging decisions (what panels/cuts to offer)
Work with data science teams on household identity resolution and transaction classification
Collaborate with engineering on data pipeline architecture and scaling requirements
Provide technical guidance to customer success teams fielding methodology questions
Qualification
Required
5-7+ years building consumer panels, household panels, or syndicated data products
Deep expertise in panel weighting methodologies: raking, propensity scoring, post-stratification, calibration
Experience with large-scale transaction or behavioral data processing
Strong foundation in sampling theory, survey statistics, and representativeness evaluation
Understanding of bias correction techniques and how to validate panel accuracy
Knowledge of U.S. demographic distributions (Census, ACS) and retail/CPG market structures
Familiarity with longitudinal panel challenges: attrition, panel conditioning, temporal weighting
Expert-level SQL for large-scale data manipulation
Proficiency in Python or R for statistical analysis and methodology implementation
Comfortable working with messy, real-world transaction data
Excellent written communication - can explain complex methodology to non-technical audiences
Experience creating methodology white papers, RFP responses, or audit documentation
Ability to defend methodological decisions to skeptical customers or competitors
Comfortable presenting to technical and business stakeholders
Preferred
Direct experience at Circana (formerly IRI or Nielsen), NIQ, Numerator, Kantar, or market research firms strongly preferred
