Field Engineer - Civil Engineer, Geological Engineer, Mechanical Engineer
Crosstek Solutions is a leading provider of Engineering services to the Department of Homeland Security. They are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Field Engineer with a strong background in geologic, civil or mechanical engineering to oversee technical field projects and ensure safety and efficiency.
Responsibilities
Hands-On Field Operations: Lead, supervise, and actively participate in all phases of field projects, including the setup, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of geophysical sensors and associated machinery
Equipment Operation: Safely and skillfully operate various pieces of field equipment as needed, including drills, pumps, GPS, seismic and EM geophysical equipment, and other project-specific tools
Troubleshooting: Identify and repair sensor issues as routinely needed to continue mission operations
Project Execution: Implement project work plans, ensuring strict adherence to technical specifications, project budgets, and timelines
Site Supervision: Act as the on-site technical lead, coordinating effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
Data & Reporting: Meticulously collect accurate field data and prepare detailed daily field reports, safety logs, and comprehensive project summaries
Safety Leadership: Champion a "safety-first" culture. Ensure all site activities comply with company and regulatory safety protocols, including conducting daily safety briefings
Problem-Solving: Proactively identify and resolve technical challenges, equipment malfunctions, and logistical hurdles as they arise on-site
Qualification
Required
A combination of relevant education and experience, meeting one of the following: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental, Mechanical or Electrical), and/or Construction Management AND 5+ years of relevant hands-on experience
Must be a United States Citizen due to client contract requirements
A proven willingness and ability to perform physical labor and operate equipment alongside field crews
Ability and willingness to travel extensively (up to 60-70%) to project sites, potentially for extended durations and on short notice
Strong analytical skills for problem solving and strong mechanical and technical skills for troubleshooting and maintaining equipment
Work inside a team environment with a can do attitude
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift/carry equipment up to 50 lbs
Preferred
Previous experience in managing, training, and leading engineering or field crews
Hands-on experience operating a geophysical equipment, bobcat and/or mini-ex
Relevant industry certifications or professional licenses
