Better Business Tax & Accounting is seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Associate to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will assist clients in navigating complex tax situations while ensuring accuracy in tax preparation and reporting.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review individual, partnership, estate, trust and corporate tax returns, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations
Conduct thorough research on tax laws and regulations to provide informed advice to clients
Assist clients with tax planning strategies to minimize liabilities and maximize benefits
Utilize accounting software such as Sage, QBOA and Drake for efficient data entry and reporting
Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in tax legislation that may affect clients
Ability to answer tax correspondence and communicate client actions
Knowledge of accounting in necessary, you must be able to compile financial statements for corporate clients

Qualification

Required

EA or CPA required
Proven experience in tax accounting or a similar role is highly desirable
Familiarity with accounting software; experience with Sage, QBOA and Drake is a plus
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients and team members
Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment
Ability to commute to Sterling Heights, MI 48310 (Required)
