Senior Electrical Engineer

Responsibilities

Lead and approve electrical designs and architectures for data-center HVAC platforms
Define system-level power distribution, control logic, grounding, and safety schemes
Oversee certification and testing programs to meet NEC, UL 60335-2-40, IEC/EN, CE, and CSA standards
Direct and review electrical design packages produced in SolidWorks Electrical
Guide and mentor Level 2 engineers; enforce design standards and best practices
Conduct and lead root-cause analysis, DFMEA, and corrective-action activities for electrical field issues
Work closely with Supply chain and provide assistance with suppliers and qualify electrical components—VFDs, power modules, relays, and control electronics
Collaborate with mechanical, controls, and manufacturing teams to ensure integrated product performance
Evaluate and implement emerging technologies such as digital drives, energy recovery, and intelligent monitoring systems
Participate in long-term product road-mapping and platform standardization initiatives

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred)
8+ years of progressive experience in electrical design for HVAC or mission-critical industrial systems
Expert understanding of NEC and UL 60335-2-40, with a strong compliance and certification record
Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks Electrical for schematic and panel design
Deep experience with motor control, power distribution, harmonic mitigation, and safety systems
Demonstrated success leading design teams and mentoring engineers
Strong communication and presentation skills, including executive-level reporting
Proven ability to diagnose complex electrical issues in prototypes and production units

Preferred

Familiarity with redundant power architectures and mission-critical reliability strategies
Experience integrating HVAC electrical systems with building-automation (BAS/BMS) networks
Track record of introducing innovative electrical technologies (smart relays, digital drives, high-efficiency power electronics)
Understanding of manufacturing processes for control panels, harnesses, and modular assemblies
Strategic mindset, aligns engineering decisions with business goals, cost, and sustainability objectives
On-time delivery of electrical designs meeting performance, cost, and compliance targets
Zero major non-conformances in certification audits
Reduction of field electrical failures and warranty incidents
Documented development of junior engineers and improved departmental capability
