Data Analyst, Meter Data

Massachusetts Water Resources Authority is a mission-driven organization focused on public health and environmental sustainability. They are seeking a Data Analyst to provide operational functions of the wastewater/water metering system, including the collection, storage, and analysis of flow data to ensure accuracy in reporting.

Government Administration

Responsibilities

Collects, stores, and analyzes flow data for the MWRA's wastewater/water metering system
Works with meter maintenance crews in the troubleshooting, repair and calibration of wastewater/water metering equipment
Programs computers, laptops, and other equipment utilizing specialized metering software to enable electronic collection and retrieval of wastewater/water flow data
Performs computerized diagnostic and statistical functions using wastewater/water metering system software, makes assessments regarding meter maintenance needs and coordinates scheduling of meter maintenance using the MWRA's asset management software package
Maintains wastewater/water meter databases, activity journal and assists in the preparation of meter data analyses and report preparation
Participates in the development of new systems as needed to enhance wastewater/water flow data management capabilities
Performs related duties as required

Required

A Bachelor's degree in any technical or analytical field such as math, business, accounting or management required
At least one (1) years of experience performing data or statistical analyses using spreadsheet, database, CMM or other computer software applications
Any equivalent combination of education and experience
Eligible for telework up to 50% of the work week after initial waiting period
Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
Ability to work with minimal supervision
Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions
Ability to manage, query and analyze data in spreadsheet applications such as MS Excel

Preferred

Relational database/SQL knowledge preferred
Experience with SQL and one object-oriented computer language (R, Python, Visual Basic, etc.) preferred
