Senior Accountant
Global Technical Talent is a high-end grocery store organization generating approximately $20 million in annual revenue. They are seeking a Senior Accountant to lead day-to-day accounting operations, manage cash flow, oversee accounts payable functions, and support construction accounting for new locations.

Responsibilities
Oversee daily financial operations within the store, ensuring accurate capture of sales, expenses, inventory activity, and operational metrics
Monitor POS integrations, merchant services deposits, and sales reconciliation
Review daily cash reports, bank activity, and variances; investigate discrepancies promptly
Maintain accurate and current general ledger activity
Supervise and manage the in-store AP Clerk, ensuring accurate invoice coding, vendor setup, approvals, and timely payments
Review AP aging weekly and escalate issues impacting cash flow
Reconcile vendor statements monthly; ensure credits and rebates are properly recorded
Enforce disciplined purchasing, approval, and documentation workflows
Maintain job-cost accounting and tracking for new locations, including budgets, commitments, and actuals
Process construction invoices, lien waivers, change orders, and work-in-progress schedules
Coordinate with general contractors, architects, and internal stakeholders
Support capex reporting, spend forecasting, and documentation required by lenders, landlords, and investors
Prepare daily cash-flow forecasts incorporating AP obligations, payroll timing, deposits, and operating needs
Monitor liquidity requirements and advise management proactively
Recommend cash-flow optimization strategies aligned with purchasing and inventory cycles
Work with the outside accounting firm to close the books by the 15th of each month
Prepare and review supporting schedules: accruals, prepaids, AP, AR, inventory, fixed assets, job cost, etc
Perform or review key reconciliations—bank, credit cards, inventory adjustments, balance sheet accounts
Assist in preparation of monthly financial statements and variance analysis
Oversee weekly and monthly inventory counts; validate shrink, spoilage, waste, and adjustments
Monitor COGS trends, margins, and purchasing patterns
Partner with department managers to strengthen controls around receiving, pricing, and stock management
Implement consistent accounting procedures across existing and future store locations
Strengthen internal controls over cash handling, purchasing, receiving, and inventory processes
Document workflows and train staff on accounting best practices
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA a plus but not required)
5–10 years of accounting experience, ideally in grocery, retail, hospitality, or other multi-unit operations
Hands-on experience with Sage Intacct and/or NetSuite (configuration, daily workflow, reporting, and integrations)
Experience supervising AP functions and managing month-end close processes
Experience with construction accounting or job-costing for new locations or capital projects
Strong Excel skills; comfort working with POS systems and inventory modules
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Ability to work on-site daily in a fast-paced, high-volume retail environment
