Director/ExecutiveRDI - Your IVD CRO is a rapidly growing company focused on providing integrated clinical trial services. The VP of Finance & Administration will build critical systems to support the company's growth, manage financial operations, and lead the transition to GAAP accounting.

Responsibilities
Lead RDI’s full transition from cash accounting to GAAP
Build a repeatable monthly close process with defensible documentation
Develop revenue recognition rules appropriate for complex, milestone-driven clinical projects
Implement project-level accounting tied to each clinical trial, including time-cards and cost allocation
Rebuild the quote-to-cash architecture across all trials
Maintain real-time visibility into margin drivers, resource allocation, and project profitability
Refine pricing strategy with Operations and CEO
Own and maintain RDI’s 100+ line CRO bid grid
Lead costing, pricing, margin modeling, and proposal strategy for major commercial opportunities
Introduce discipline and standardization to bid process
Own all banking relationships and credit reporting
Deliver monthly investor and board reporting packages with accuracy and clarity
Help plan and budget for the new hires we need to grow
Find those people (either yourself or through our HR partners / external recruiter)
Onboard them, and help keep them happy (using our people management tool, Lattice)
Oversee outsourced AP, AR, payroll, accruals, and cost tracking functions
Evaluate building our own internal accounting team as the company scales
Strengthen internal controls, financial policies, and compliance frameworks
Assist CEO to develop and improve RDI’s Salesforce based systems across Operations and Finance
Oversee third-party vendors for Salesforce development and managing our clinical infrastructure of iPads and Scanners
Manage user permissions and compliance with FDA regulations (backup and data integrity) alongside tech vendors
Qualification
Required
Experience in finance and accounting, particularly in transitioning from cash accounting to GAAP
Ability to build and implement a repeatable monthly close process with defensible documentation
Knowledge of revenue recognition rules for complex, milestone-driven projects
Experience in project-level accounting and cost allocation
Proven ability to rebuild quote-to-cash architecture
Experience in maintaining visibility into margin drivers and project profitability
Ability to refine pricing strategy in collaboration with operations and executive leadership
Experience in managing a large CRO bid grid and leading costing, pricing, and proposal strategy
Strong banking relationship management skills and experience in credit reporting
Ability to deliver accurate and clear monthly investor and board reporting packages
Experience in HR and people operations, including planning and budgeting for new hires
Experience in onboarding and managing employee satisfaction
Leadership experience in overseeing outsourced accounting functions
Ability to evaluate and build an internal accounting team as the company scales
Experience in strengthening internal controls and compliance frameworks
Ability to assist in developing and improving Salesforce-based systems
Experience in managing third-party vendors for Salesforce development
Knowledge of compliance with FDA regulations regarding data integrity
