Intern - Gas Transmission Engineering
MidAmerican Energy Company is one of the largest renewable energy producers in the U.S., headquartered in Des Moines, Iowa. The Intern in Gas Transmission Engineering will assist with engineering projects, create drawings, and support the coordination of gas facility construction.

Responsibilities
Create engineering drawings for proposed and existing gas facilities
Assist engineers and project managers with design of gas transmission projects
Assist engineering employees with field work (inspection, staking, measuring and record verification)
Assist with coordination of design and construction of gas facilities with consulting engineers and construction contractors
Assist with data analysis, summary, and reporting
Enter and record data in databases
Manage project as-built paperwork to ensure it meets regulatory requirements and is stored and indexed for easy reference
Update maps and records as necessary
Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned
Qualification
Required
Must be a college student, currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in engineering
Must be available May-August 2026
Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record
Effective project management skills
Effective verbal and written communication skills
Effective analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently
