Responsibilities
Coordinating educational placements for students transitioning from HPDS
Meeting with parents, teachers, and service providers to ensure alignment with each student's learning needs
Leading and supporting the IEP process for transitioning students
Organizing and overseeing graduation events and related activities
Maintaining ongoing professional development and sharing best practices with colleagues
Representing HPDS at meetings with partner schools and in the broader educational community
Qualification
Required
A bachelor's degree or higher in learning disabilities, special education, or social work
Proven experience placing students with learning disabilities in appropriate educational settings
Knowledge of public and private schools within the Chicago metropolitan area
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills
The ability to work effectively and efficiently while managing multiple priorities
A warm, approachable demeanor that fosters trust with students, parents, and colleagues
Preferred
Master's degree in learning disabilities, special education, or social work
At least three years' experience working with children with diagnosed learning disabilities
