Part Time Paralegal-Prosecutor
Elkhart County Government is seeking a Part-Time Paralegal for the Prosecuting Attorney's Pre-Trial Department. The role involves assisting with the Infraction Deferral Program and the Pretrial Diversion Program, including vetting participants and managing communications.

Responsibilities
Responsible for assisting the Infraction Deferral Program Coordinator and assisting with the Pretrial Diversion Program
Assist daily vetting for potential participants, preparing applications and other correspondence
Answer phone calls, voicemails and respond to emails from the courts, the public, and attorneys; and provide accurate information regarding services, policies and procedures
Qualification
Required
High school diploma or GED with a minimum of 18 months of related education and/or training
Knowledge of Elkhart County courts system and operations, including laws and legal terminology, administrative regulations, and official court policies and practices
Ability to apply appropriate procedures to assigned duties
Knowledge of standard English grammar, spelling, and punctuation and ability to type with speed and accuracy; ability to prepare pleadings, petitions, and related correspondence
Pre-employment background check and drug screen

Associate Degree and Paralegal training
