Apex Infrastructure Consultants is seeking an experienced Senior Substation Project Manager to oversee the design and pre-construction of high-voltage (HV) and medium-voltage (MV) electrical substations for large hyperscale data centers across North America. The Project Manager will guide the substation design process, manage design teams, and ensure quality and safety in alignment with client requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop scopes of work for substation design and design-build contracts
Manage proposal reviews, contract negotiations, and awards
Lead planning and kickoff workshops with internal and external stakeholders
Facilitate design reviews (30%, 60%, 100%) and equipment fabrication reviews
Coordinate design activities across disciplines (electrical, structural, civil, mechanical, etc.)
Track project cost, schedule, progress, and scope, and report regularly to stakeholders
Oversee change management for project scope and design contracts
Support procurement and construction teams with timely engineering information
Ensure QA/QC processes are followed and address any issues promptly
Provide transparent communication and facilitate technical decisions in line with project needs
Assist in scheduling and management of owner-direct vendors

Required

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience delivering substations and/or mission-critical facilities
Strong knowledge of HV/MV electrical systems, construction principles, and multidisciplinary coordination

Preferred

Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred
