Responsibilities

Designing, building, and maintaining scalable, reliable backend services that power our lending platform
Owning end-to-end delivery of meaningful features and initiatives, from design through production support
Collaborating closely with Product Managers to clarify requirements, shape solutions, and define success
Working across teams to ensure integrations (banks, vendors, internal systems) are robust and well-designed
Identifying and addressing technical debt before it becomes a bottleneck
Improving team and system processes, tooling, and documentation
Helping break down ambiguous problems into clear, executable plans
Raising engineering standards through code reviews, design discussions, and mentoring
Thinking beyond 'does it work?' to 'does this solve the right problem?'

Required

5+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent impact and responsibility)
Strong experience building backend systems using Node.js and TypeScript
Experience working with relational databases such as MySQL and designing data models thoughtfully
Hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure, ideally with Amazon Web Services (ECS, RDS, S3, etc.)
Comfort working in distributed systems and integrating with third-party APIs
Ability to reason about system behavior in production, including reliability, observability, and performance
Experience working cross-functionally in a product-driven environment
A track record of owning problems and delivering results in ambiguous situations
