BDC is dedicated exclusively to the development of Canadian businesses, promoting the growth of the economy by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises. The Summer Student in Risk Management will assist various teams in the Risk Management function, contributing to the stabilization and recovery of struggling businesses, as well as investigating fraud and misconduct.

Responsibilities

Support the Risk Management function with a variety of tasks

Assist the Business Restructuring Team in helping struggling businesses stabilize, recover, and return to sustainable operations

Help the Special Accounts Team minimize financial losses, implement recovery strategies, and restructure businesses

Contribute to the Fraud & Misconduct Investigations Team by investigating suspected misconduct and fraud, implementing preventive measures, and ensuring compliance to protect the bank’s integrity and minimize financial risk

Required

Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage priorities

Excellent written and oral communication

Basic knowledge of financial products and concepts (interest rates, mortgages, loans, financial statements)

Completed at least one year of post-secondary studies in a relevant field and be enrolled full-time in a program for the fall 2026 semester

Preferred

Bilingualism in English and French is an asset but not mandatory
