Forest Technician (Seasonal) - William Penn Forest District, Berks County
The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Forest Technician within the William Penn State Forest District. This seasonal role involves overseeing forestry management programs, conducting surveys, and supporting the health and sustainability of forest resources.

Responsibilities
Oversee various programs, including timber sales, fire prevention initiatives, insect and disease management, the development of forest tree nurseries, and the execution of recreational projects, along with any additional tasks as assigned
Conduct surveys to accurately assess and document the characteristics of forest resources
Compiling and reporting field data
Applying standard forest management practices
Interpret maps, drawings, and plans effectively to carry out their duties
Ensure it meets quality standards and complies with agency regulations
Support forestry professionals across the district
Improve the health and sustainability of forest resources on State Forest Land
Promote the development of recreational projects
Qualification
Required
An associate's degree in forest technology; or
Completion of equivalent formal education in forestry
Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 6 months of graduating with a qualifying degree
This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent
You must be able to perform essential job functions
