The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking passionate individuals to join the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources as Forest Technicians. This role focuses on resource management, recreation, and fire control, contributing to forestry initiatives and assisting in the development of recreational facilities within state forests.

Responsibilities

Assist foresters in identifying vegetation for the Forest Resource Plan

Help mark and designate forest products available for sale from state lands

Integral to the district's regeneration program, including preparing surveys and maps using GPS and GIS technology

Maintain records of herbicide applications for both regeneration efforts and invasive species management

Assist foresters in developing and improving recreational facilities in state forests

Operate various vehicles, such as motor vehicles, ATVs, and snowmobiles, to ensure these areas are well-maintained

Provide information and support to visitors, helping to create a positive experience

Organize educational programs for user groups as needed

Required

An associate's degree in forest technology; or

Completion of equivalent formal education in forestry

Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 6 months of graduating with a qualifying degree

This position requires possession of a valid PA non-commercial Class C driver's license or equivalent
