Responsibilities

Conduct professional work in the coordination, development, implementation, and evaluation of environmental education and interpretive programs within the Pennsylvania Environmental Education and Information Center

Provide vital support for environmental education throughout Pennsylvania by delivering a wide-range of programs for students

Collaborate with the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR) to coordinate and facilitate professional development and teacher enrichment workshops

Assist in updating and upgrading DEP’s environmental education-related website content

Maintain the Environmental Education and Information Center at the Rachel Carson State Office Building

Promote the DEP Falcon Program

Required

One year of experience as an Environmental Education Specialist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)

A bachelor's degree in environmental education, education, the natural sciences, social sciences, or parks and recreation; and one year of professional experience in the field of environmental education and interpretation

An equivalent combination of experience and training

Possession of a valid driver's license which is not under suspension

Submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance
