Responsibilities
Exercises tact and diplomacy and works to maintain a professional, efficient and courteous response to all inquiries
Attends all department meetings and is prepared to report current issues in those meetings. Communicates effectively and efficiently in team meetings
Actively seeks to improve knowledge and experience in healthcare billing and reform
Meets productivity and performance standards as set by the Department Manager
Follows all policies and procedures of the department and takes an active role in process improvement within the department
Works effectively with insurance carriers as assigned in the timely resolution of billing accounts
Is responsible for understanding A/R trends within assigned accounts and proactively identifying issues and resolutions
Reviews assigned A/R balances by category and age, paying particular attention to 90 days and older balances
Qualification
Required
High school graduate or equivalent required
Data entry experience required
Office experience required
Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with good organization
Preferred
One year of medical billing experience preferred
Familiarity with medical terminology and diagnostic coding helpful
