Responsibilities
Ensures the general cleanliness of assigned County offices and buildings
Sweeps, mops, polishes and vacuums floors of assigned offices and buildings
Washes walls, windows, ceiling vents, woodwork and mirrors, which may involve climbing ladder
Cleans all restrooms and fixtures; checks and stocks supplies, ensures that all lavatory installations are working and reports those that need repair, makes other minor repairs as needed
Removes and disposes of all rubbish and trash in designated areas, clean desks, cabinets and furniture. May require crawling, kneeling and/or stooping to clean debris areas under desks, etc
Performs major cleaning operations such as floor stripping
May drive trash trucks to dump. Light duty trucks only
May set up displays, conference rooms, etc
May perform as a lead person providing training, guidance, and direction to employees of the same level or lower level regarding proper use of equipment and maintenance of offices and buildings
May prepare reports and maintain work records, prepare estimates on the amounts and kinds of materials needed, and provide recommendation for preventative maintenance required to keep repair work to a minimum
Performs other related work (including weather or other extreme emergency duties) as required
Qualification
Required
Ability to read and write, understand and follow instructions is required
Must be familiar with power tools, equipment and professional materials used in custodial services
Valid drivers license required, with valid Florida driver's license required within 30 days of hire
Preferred
At least one-year experience in janitorial or related custodial work highly desired
