They are seeking a full-time Volunteer/Intern Coordinator to oversee the recruitment, training, and placement of volunteers and interns, ensuring the needs of all departments are met.

Responsibilities

Overseeing the successful recruitment, selection, retention, training, and placement of all unpaid staff (volunteers & interns)
Leading the History Center’s volunteer program of over 200+ individuals
Recruiting, screening, and on-boarding seasonal (fall, spring, and summer) interns
Ensuring the volunteer/intern needs of all departments are being met
Developing recruitment strategies with an emphasis on volunteers and interns from diverse backgrounds and skills
Placing volunteers, evaluating volunteer positions, and coordinating with Department Heads and Division Directors in the placement of interns
Working cooperatively with all departments to recruit and schedule appropriate quantity and quality of volunteers to assist staff with ongoing and specific tasks, events and activities
Maintaining the Volgistics volunteer management software
Ensuring that all internship opportunities provide a valuable experience for the student
Providing administrative support to the Chief Human Resources Officer as needed
Assisting with filing and conducting volunteer, intern, and new staff orientation and on-boarding

Required

High School diploma and a minimum of 2 years' experience in volunteer coordination and recruitment
Must have experience in recruiting a core of volunteers from diverse backgrounds
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Maintain a positive approach to problem solving
Be detail-oriented and a self-starter with the ability to use Microsoft Office suite of programs

Preferred

Experience using volunteer management software (Volgistic) is preferred
