Responsibilities

Assist a skilled I&C by supplying materials, equipment, and tools at the jobsite
Participate in the installation and removal of equipment, cables, and hardware
Assist in the maintenance and repair of instrumentation or electronic controls and equipment 600 volts and below
Perform less difficult or routine installations, connections, troubleshooting, and repairs of meters, sensors, and process control equipment
Demonstrate superior seamless customer service, integrity, and commitment to innovation, efficiency, and fiscally responsible activity

Required

Must have High School Diploma or GED at the time of hire
Must successfully pass an Apprentice Aptitude Test with an 80% score or better
Must be able to read and comprehend written material at a level appropriate for the class
Must be able to perceive the full range of the color spectrum to distinguish colors
Must be able to work at heights greater than 6 feet and move heavy objects (50 pounds or more) short distances (20 feet or less)
Must be able to work outside in a variety of environmental extremes such as heat, cold, rain, air pollution, and dust
Must maintain regular and reliable attendance
Working irregular hours, second and/or third shifts, weekends, holidays, and evenings may be required
All finalists for positions are subject to a criminal background check applicable to the department or position
These positions require the use of personal or City vehicles on City business. Individuals must be physically capable of operating the vehicles safely, possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record
