Responsibilities

Design and implement scalable batch and streaming pipelines
Architect ingestion frameworks, modeling layers, warehouses, and orchestration systems
Optimize data models, storage, and compute for reliability, latency, and cost efficiency
Define and operationalize data governance: lineage, metadata, SLAs, retention
Implement privacy and compliance controls aligned to PCI, AML/KYC, GDPR/CCPA, and SOX
Partner with Security, Legal, and Compliance to embed regulatory requirements into data workflows
Maintain audit-ready datasets and documentation supporting financial and regulatory reporting
Mentor and grow a team of data engineers and analytics engineers
Drive code quality, design reviews, and engineering best practices
Establish team processes, workflows, and technical standards
Partner with Product, Risk, Compliance, FP&A, and Engineering
Build automation, observability, and internal tooling to improve operational efficiency
Deliver well-documented, trustworthy datasets that support analytics, machine learning, experimentation, and operational decisioning

Required

7+ years in data engineering, platform engineering, or distributed systems
Experience building data platforms in fintech, payments, or other regulated domains
Deep technical expertise across cloud data warehouses, ETL/ELT, streaming technologies, and orchestration frameworks
Advanced SQL and production-grade Python skills
Experience with AWS data services and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform or CloudFormation)
Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, privacy, and compliance frameworks (PCI, AML/KYC, GDPR/CCPA, SOX)
Ability to lead engineers while remaining deeply technical and hands-on

Preferred

background in fraud detection, transaction monitoring, real-time risk scoring, or crypto
