Responsibilities

Oversees engineering department functions manages employees and projects

Develops project schedules and deadlines, determines project quotes and budget requirements

Prepares reports, approves timesheets and expenses, reviews and approves invoices

Monitors deadlines and progress of all projects; assigns tasks to maximize capacity utilization and to ensure projects stay on track

Coordinates meetings and communicates with internal departments and external customers

Provides support to employees to perform their assigned tasks

Guides direct reports in the creation of their individual goals, monitors their performance, and ensures their goals are aligned with the business strategy of the company

Assigns tasks and the implementation of alternative work methods to assist in process improvement

Performs other tasks as assigned by the AVP of Engineering/Omaha

Signal engineering principlesWaysideCrossing systemsMS Office skillsEngineering degreeSupervisory experience

Required

Strong knowledge of wayside railroad or transit system signal engineering principles and concepts

Strong knowledge of the application and design of wayside and crossing systems

Strong MS Office computer skills and capabilities

Preferred

Bachelor's degree in engineering or similar degree or Six years of industry engineering experience

Three years of supervisory experience
