Responsibilities
Provide first-level support and troubleshoot devices, software, and access issues
Configure workstations, software deployments, user accounts, and access permissions
Train and assist users at all experience levels with patience and clarity
Install, configure, and update desktop applications, operating systems, and Microsoft tools
Manage Windows updates, Exchange administration, file shares, and access controls
Assist with documentation, ticketing systems, and ongoing improvement of support processes
Support both physical and virtual server environments including maintenance and backup processes
Assist with Active Directory administration and Group Policy changes
Troubleshoot wired and wireless network issues and support access point management
Support and reinforce security standards, updates, and systems hardening
Create and maintain clear technical documentation and troubleshooting workflows
Participate in on-call support rotation as needed
Qualification
Required
Experience providing IT support for end-users in a business environment
Knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policies, Microsoft 365/Exchange, networking basics (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), and workstation configuration
Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to research, diagnose, and resolve issues independently
Excellent communication skills and ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical users
Positive attitude, resourcefulness, professionalism, and customer-focused mindset
Ability to stand, move equipment, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
Valid driver's license with ability to travel between Syracuse sites
