Intern - Facilities & Operations - Sustainability

As an intern in the Facilities & Operations - Sustainability team, you will contribute to high-impact projects focused on water-related financial risk analysis and enhance Gilead's Enterprise Risk Management process.

Responsibilities
Build on the top-down and bottom-up risk assessments Gilead has conducted using WRI Aqueduct and local data and models to evaluate financial risks from water stress across Gilead’s value chain
Deepen analysis to assess and prioritize water-related physical, regulatory, and reputational risks, ensuring water risk metrics are linked to financial KPIs through established disclosure frameworks (e.g., TNFD LEAP framework and SASB sector guidance)
Translate Gilead’s existing physical water risk scenario analysis—developed using RCP and SSP climate scenarios for 2030, 2050, and 2080—into quantification of costs and scenario-based financial impacts across timescales
Propose a strategy to enhance Gilead’s Enterprise Risk Management process to further integrate water risk into financial planning
Showcase your work with a final presentation (PPT) near the conclusion of your internship
Qualification
Required
Must be at least 18 years old
Must have a minimum GPA of 2.8
Authorized to work in the United States without Sponsorship now or in the future or CPT/OPT through your University
Must be currently enrolled as a full-time student in a Bachelor's/Masters/MBA/PhD program at an accredited US based university or college
Must be a Rising Sophomore, Junior, or Senior in undergrad or a Graduate or Doctoral Student
Must be enrolled full-time in the Fall Semester at an accredited university/college after the completion of the internship
Must be able to complete a 10-12 consecutive week internship between May and August
Must be able to relocate if necessary and work at the designated site for the duration of the internship
Preferred
Preferred Degree qualification: Undergrad or Graduate
Proficiency with MS Office Suite
Strong analytical and quantitative skills; experience with Python, R, or Excel modeling is a plus
Ability to identify issues and seek solutions
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
Demonstrated commitment to inclusion and diversity in the workplace
Efficient, organized, and able to handle short timelines in a fast-paced environment
