Responsibilities
Coordinate and prioritize production activities within the designated zone
Ensure that production schedules are adhered to and that products are manufactured according to specifications and quality standards
Collaborate with other department leads to optimize overall production flow
Lead a team of production workers and operators within the zone
Provide guidance, training, and support to team members to enhance their skills and productivity
Encourage a positive and cooperative working atmosphere to foster team cohesion and morale
Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure products meet the required quality standards
Perform required quality control testing, recording, and charting procedures, ensuring that nonconforming product is handled according to company policy and procedures
Conduct regular inspections and audits to identify and address any quality issues or non-compliance
Promote and enforce a strong safety culture within the zone, ensuring all employees follow safety protocols and guidelines
Identify and address potential safety hazards promptly to prevent accidents and injuries
Oversee the proper functioning and maintenance of machinery and equipment in the zone. Coordinate with the maintenance department for repairs and maintenance tasks as needed
Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency enhancement
Implement Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles to optimize production processes
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of production activities, quality reports, and inventory levels
Prepare and present regular reports on production performance and key performance indicators (KPIs) to management
Participate in training programs to stay updated on manufacturing techniques, safety regulations, and industry best practices
Share knowledge and skills with team members to enhance their professional development
Adhere to established company values practices, policies, and procedures at all times. Follow and support compliance with all applicable safety rules, laws, regulations, and standards
Demonstrate regular and punctual attendance at the assigned work location
Qualification
Required
Previous experience in a high-speed production environment, or any satisfactory combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above duties
Accurately multiply, divide, add, and subtract whole numbers to resolve practical problems
Operate a computer—PC proficiency; use spreadsheets and reporting software effectively
Wear/use required PPE (personal protective equipment)
Understand written instruction and complete appropriate documentation as directed
Use a logical approach to troubleshooting issues and prioritizing production needs
Recognize problems when they occur and to work toward the solution of those problems
Pay attention to details and pursue quality in accomplishing work duties and tasks. Look for opportunities to reduce costs or increase productivity without reducing effectiveness
Handle challenges skillfully, thoroughly, and effectively
Effectively and professionally communicate with co-workers, team members, and internal or external customers. Present information clearly and accurately
Independently take advantage of opportunities to improve or increase skills, abilities, and job knowledge
Make sure that work is delivered on time and of high quality
Develop good work practices in order to get the job done
Use equipment, resources, and time in an efficient and effective manner
Use good judgment when making decisions
Perform work in a safe manner at all times
Work in a cooperative manner with management, co-workers, internal/external customers, and vendors
Preferred
Supervisory or leadership experience is preferred
Experience with lean manufacturing practices is highly desirable
