The Midtown Group is seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Cost Accountant for their corporate headquarters in Fort Worth, TX. This role is integral to maintaining and analyzing average costs, supporting the accounting team, and providing expertise in cost management.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain the average process cost accounting system; analyze cost variances

Evaluate costs incurred, cost of sales, and inventory valuation, including external filings

Recommend process and policy improvements to reduce costs and maximize profitability

Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly management reports

Support month-end close with journal entries and account reconciliations

Perform inventory-related functions and life cycle cost-benefit analyses

Analyze inventory valuations and monitor unit cost variances

Prepare cost of goods sold and production reports

Reconcile raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods; assist with material usage variance analysis

Prepare inventory-related journal entries and audit reports for month and year-end activities

Collaborate with Sales and Operations’ leadership, external auditors to ensure accurate and timely reporting

Support other accounting and inventory functions as needed
