The role involves delivering tax compliance, planning, and ASC 740 income tax provision services for corporate clients, while leading client engagements and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities
Manage client engagements from planning through completion, including budgeting, execution, and quality review
Oversee preparation and review of ASC 740 income tax provisions, including deferred tax asset/liability analysis and uncertain tax positions
Supervise, train, and mentor junior staff and interns, conducting performance evaluations
Review corporate income tax returns (federal, state, and local) and recommend tax-saving strategies
Support tax provision audits and provide audit-ready documentation
Research and consult on various corporate tax matters and compliance issues
Collaborate with internal teams and the Washington National Tax Office (WNTO) to resolve complex tax issues
Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring timely delivery and satisfaction
Stay current with emerging tax laws, ASC 740 updates, and regulatory developments
Uphold professional standards, ethics, and client confidentiality
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Accounting (Master's in Taxation a plus)
CPA certification preferred or CPA-eligible required
2–4 years of progressive tax experience in corporate tax compliance and consulting
Hands-on experience with ASC 740 (Tax Provision) preparation or audit support
Prior experience working in a Top 20 public accounting firm
Strong technical tax knowledge and analytical skills
Excellent communication and client interaction abilities
Located in or willing to relocate to New York City and able to work onsite at least 2 days/week
Preferred
Experience in public accounting or corporate tax environments (Big 4 / Top 20 firm background)
Demonstrated experience managing client portfolios and staff supervision
Proficiency in tax software (OneSource, CorpTax, or similar)
Strong research and problem-solving skills related to U.S. corporate tax
Consistent tenure in previous roles (no frequent job changes)
