Responsibilities

Lead the LAUS and CES programs, ensuring high quality data and reporting that meets the required performance deliverables of the program under the guidelines and requirements put forth by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics in the Cooperative Agreement with the State of Missouri
Successfully supervise one team member using collaborative and supportive leadership that upholds the values of the Department, with responsibilities including hiring, assisting workload, performance management, coaching, goal-setting, and day-to-day supervision
Prepare and verify detailed statistical model data inputs
Work with partners from other states to ensure quality and accuracy of cross-state data
Create and review monthly and annual estimates of labor force data
Work with the BLS Regional and National Offices to ensure data quality for both LAUS and CES programs and troubleshoot any program improvements, changes, or issues
Use BLS data and work with Office of Workforce Development to create annual Areas of Substantial Unemployment
Use knowledge of state and local economic trends to collaborate on the accuracy and publication of the resulting data
Respond to data requests as needed
Effectively use a variety of programs such as Excel, Word, and proprietary program software to ensure program performance
Perform other related work as assigned
Demonstrate regular and reliable attendance

Required

Ability to set strategy and adapt as program needs evolve

Preferred

Beneficial education and/or work-related experience includes technical or professional experience in research, data analysis, economics, business, public administration, or closely related area, including military service
