Senior Network Engineer
Forward Slash Technology is a St. Louis-based Cyber Security, Information Technology, and Managed Services provider. They are seeking a Senior Network Engineer to lead technical strategy and service delivery for various SMB and enterprise clients, focusing on designing, implementing, and securing complex IT infrastructures while mentoring junior team members.

Responsibilities
Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance to ensure client systems remain efficient and secure
Direct and implement high-level IT projects, collaborating with clients and team members to meet deliverables
Develop and maintain project roadmaps, ensuring alignment with strategic client objectives
Serve as a technical escalation point for advanced troubleshooting and complex problem-solving
Conduct code reviews, solution design reviews, and participate in peer mentoring
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to mid-level and junior engineers
Ensure client SLAs are met or exceeded through proactive monitoring and performance tuning
Lead discovery and architectural design sessions with new clients
Standardize documentation and technical procedures for internal and external use
Qualification
Required
10+ years supporting IT networks in MSP environments
Proficient in Layer 2/3 switching, routing (OSPF, BGP), DNS, DHCP, and designing high-availability architectures with failover and disaster recovery
Extensive experience with Barracuda, Fortinet, SonicWall, Meraki, and related firewall deployments
Advanced expertise in Active Directory, Exchange (including O365), and Windows Server environments
Skilled in VMware, Hyper-V, and hybrid infrastructure solutions using Azure, Quest Rapid Recovery, and Barracuda tools
Deploy and manage VoIP systems (Mitel, Avaya), following industry best practices for network integration
Proficient in managing SQL Server, Unix/Linux systems, IPSEC/SSL VPNs, and web hosting services
Experience implementing Barracuda web and spam filtering solutions
Deep understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls
Experience implementing and managing IDPS, NAC, WAF, and VPN solutions
Familiarity with Zero Trust Architecture and IAM platforms
Demonstrated success managing IT projects and customer-facing initiatives
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders; adept at building long-term client relationships and delivering high-touch service
Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize work to meet adapting deadlines
Strong analytic and problem-solving abilities
Attention to detail
Willingness to participate in on-call support activities and work irregular hours when needed
Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
Be a U.S. Citizen and hold a valid driver's license with a clean record
Pass a MSHP/Federal fingerprint-based background check
Complete the CJIS Security & Privacy Training Certification
