Management & Program Analyst (Fire) - Direct Hire Authority

Responsibilities
Conducts studies of fire programs, functions, work processes, staffing levels, methods and procedures and other related criteria
Reviews operating regulations and directives and other pertinent sources to gather, correlate, analyze, determine and recommend appropriate effectiveness
Analyzes and evaluates policies, procedures, guidelines and administrative processes
Reviews audit and investigative reports to determine appropriate changes or corrective action required
Responds to management requests to analyze problems and issues
Advises management on a variety of opportunities and options to increase organizational effectiveness
Provides direction and interpretation of administrative policies, procedures and guidelines to managers and co-workers

You cannot hold an active real estate license; nor can you have an interest or hold stocks in firms with interest in Federal Land

Appointment will be subject to a favorably adjudicated background/suitability investigation/determination. Failure to possess or obtain a favorable determination will result in the cancellation of the offer or will be grounds for termination
May require completion of a one year probationary period
To qualify for the GS-09 grade level, 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07 is required
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment
You must meet all qualification requirements by the closing date of the announcement
Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order for it to be credited towards qualifications
Preferred
A master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years (32 semester hours) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree which is DIRECTLY related to work of the position OR an LL.B. or J.D; OR an equivalent combination of specialized experience and education
