Responsibilities
Own day-to-day HR operations across a fully remote workforce
Develop and maintain HR policies, employee handbooks, and documentation
Manage employee lifecycle processes: onboarding, offboarding, promotions, and transitions
Support performance management, goal-setting, and feedback processes
Partner with leadership to support hiring across engineering, sales, marketing, and operations
Coordinate recruiting processes, interviews, and candidate experience
Help build scalable hiring frameworks for a growing SaaS company
Foster a strong, inclusive, and high-performance remote culture
Support engagement initiatives, learning programs, and career development
Act as a trusted resource for employees and managers
Ensure compliance with employment laws across the US and Canada
Manage benefits administration, payroll coordination, and HR vendors
Support equity, compensation, and contractor agreements (with legal partners)
Maintain HR systems and employee records
Track key people metrics (headcount, retention, engagement)
Improve HR processes as the company scales
Recommend tools and systems to support growth and efficiency
Qualification
Required
5+ years of HR or People Operations experience
Experience supporting remote or distributed teams
Strong understanding of US and Canadian employment practices
Comfortable working in a fast-paced startup or high-growth environment
Hands-on, organized, and proactive
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred
Experience in SaaS, tech startups, or FinTech
Experience with HRIS platforms, payroll, and benefits providers
Exposure to equity administration and startup compensation structures
