G.E.C., Inc. is a company focused on transportation engineering and project management. They are seeking a Professional Civil Engineer to provide engineering and technical support for road projects, overseeing design work and ensuring project delivery.

Civil Engineering

Responsibilities

Utilizing engineering and CADD software to oversee and/or provide designs for road, drainage and other civil project plans and specifications

Interpreting electronic surveys to incorporate into plans

Project management for all phases of design work from inception to final acceptance

Managing projects to ensure efficient personnel utilization and on-time delivery

Assist in the review of roadway calculations and plan submittals, shop drawing submittals, contractor proposals, requests for information, change orders, etc

Performing project cost estimating

Develop project engineering fees and negotiate engineering contract scope of work performing QA/QC reviews of design activities of design team members

Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals

Assist in any duties required to deliver a quality product on schedule and within budget

Required

BS Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited engineering curriculum

Registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in the State of Louisiana

Minimum of 10 years of qualifying experience after licensure as a Professional Engineer

Strong background in advanced computer software

Experience with LADOTD, or similar agency, requirements and standards pertaining to roadway and bridge projects

Knowledge and understanding of applicable design codes and clients standards

Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
