Responsibilities

Design, build, and improve monitoring & observability tooling for hosted and hybrid infrastructure environments
Work with large datasets including logs, metrics, events, and service telemetry to derive insight and model patterns for alerting and performance dashboards
Develop automated data pipelines for collecting and structuring monitoring data from diverse sources (cloud, on-prem, VPN-connected endpoints, etc.)
Build and enhance dashboards and visualizations in tools such as Grafana, Kibana, or internal BI/analytics services
Implement and tune alerting, anomaly detection, and service health indicators (SLIs/SLOs)
Support operational automation of monitoring controls, including scripting health checks and notification workflows
Partner with software & infrastructure teams to pilot new tooling that improves system stability, reliability, and response times
Document and present findings on tooling performance and recommended improvements

Required

Interest in DevOps, SRE, or data engineering
Familiarity with Linux, scripting, and APIs
Comfort working with data (logs, metrics, JSON, time-series)
Curiosity to explore new monitoring approaches

Preferred

Exposure to Grafana, ELK stack, Prometheus, or cloud monitoring
Coursework or projects involving data pipelines or automation
Interest in analytics and visualization
Understanding of infrastructure reliability concepts
