The System Engineer is responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, and optimizing the company's IT infrastructure, ensuring stability, security, and efficiency while collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve technical issues.

Responsibilities
Install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software, and system management tools
Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure, including maintaining infrastructure documentation
Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies to ensure system resilience
Provide support to users, addressing their system-related issues
Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work with developers to implement those fixes
Write and maintain custom scripts to increase system efficiency and lower human intervention time on tasks
Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem-resolution
Create and maintain detailed system documentation, guides, and best practices. Participate in knowledge-sharing activities to enhance the skills of peers and community users
Stay updated with the latest system technologies and trends, and proactively recommend improvements in system processes to align with industry best practices
Qualification
Required
Strong knowledge of operating systems, application software, and system management tools
Proficiency in system monitoring and performance optimization techniques
Understanding of security best practices, backup strategies, and system redundancy
Ability to write and maintain automation scripts to improve efficiency
Excellent troubleshooting skills and problem-solving abilities
Strong documentation and technical writing skills
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Ability to liaise with vendors and IT personnel for issue resolution
Continuous learning mindset to keep up with evolving technologies
Proven experience in system administration, infrastructure management, or a similar role
Hands-on experience with installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems and applications
Experience in monitoring and testing application performance and identifying optimizations
Familiarity with automation tools and scripting languages for system efficiency
Experience maintaining security and backup strategies to ensure system resilience
Demonstrated ability to work with cross-functional teams and vendors to resolve technical issues
Experience in creating and maintaining system documentation, technical guides, and best practices
