Responsibilities
Own the technical pre-sales lifecycle, including discovery, solution design, and delivery of compelling product demonstrations
Translate complex technical concepts into practical, high-impact use cases for audiences ranging from hands-on engineers to C-level executives
Serve as the API security SME for customers, partners, and internal teams
Educate sales teams and stakeholders on API security trends, threats, and best practices
Act as the primary technical point of contact during the pre-sales journey, ensuring customer confidence and success
Gather customer requirements and collaborate closely with product and engineering teams to align solutions with real-world needs
Present API security vision and best practices at industry conferences, webinars, and customer workshops
Partner cross-functionally with sales, product management, and engineering to continuously improve the customer experience
Qualification
Required
8+ years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
Strong knowledge of APIs, API gateways, WAFs, and modern API security practices
Proven experience in technical pre-sales, solutions engineering, solution architecture, or similar roles within cybersecurity or API-focused environments
Deep understanding of internet technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, SSL/TLS
Hands-on experience with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and related technologies
Scripting experience with Python, JavaScript, and/or Bash
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and cloud-native architectures
Experience deploying and managing Kubernetes clusters and containerized applications
Excellent presentation and communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
