The Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and modeling electric lines, assisting customers with Aerial Cable systems, and supporting the sales team with business development efforts.

Responsibilities
Applying industry codes and standards to create designs for poles, wires and equipment for overhead electric distribution and transmission systems. Includes NESC , GO95, CSA codes
Using software design tools such as PLS-CADD, SAG10 and Solidworks to design overhead systems
Discuss utility electric systems with utility engineers, consultants and salespeople and instruct them on the use of Hendrix products
Manage multiple projects using software tools including Salesforce and Smartsheet
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. This includes writing reports, as well as presentations for training customers
Limited travel domestically to customer sites for complaint resolution, sales presentations or product training
Able to assist with product design and development by assembling parts and performing mechanical and electrical tests
Learn and use the Axiom MRP software used to operate the business
Work with sales and marketing to assist with catalog updates and product data sheets
Qualification
Required
This position requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, or Civil Engineering or a related field
Two years of experience with utility distribution and transmission systems including overhead distribution line design
Knowledge of standards including the National Electric Safety Code, General Order 96, Canadian Standards for overhead systems
Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills. This includes writing reports, as well as presentations for training customers
Preferred
Skill in using CAD drafting software is preferred
