Staff Build & Release Engineer

Responsibilities

Build, test, and deploy full-stack solutions in secure areas, spanning networking, Windows workstations and servers, Linux, High Performance Computing (HPC) clusters, storage, security tools, AI/LLM platforms, and applications
Define and drive deployment standards and technology best practices to improve consistency, reliability, and security
Contribute to technical strategy and architecture discussions to ensure scalable, resilient solutions, including integration of AI and LLM capabilities
Translate business and security requirements into clear project strategies and execution plans
Lead day-to-day execution of multiple projects, including tracking, issue resolution, and stakeholder communication
Coordinate across business, IT, information assurance, physical security, and facilities to deliver shared outcomes
Anticipate and manage risks, scope changes, dependencies, and non-standard events
Lead process improvement and documentation efforts to streamline deployments and support
Ensure high-quality deliverables that meet or exceed stakeholder expectations
Track outcomes and customer satisfaction using KPIs; define new metrics where needed
Provide clear, concise status updates at multiple organizational levels
Escalate and resolve roadblocks with technical and functional partners
Build strong relationships to align stakeholders and maintain momentum toward common goals

Required

Bachelor's degree and minimum 4 years of professional experience OR Associate's degree and minimum 7 years OR High School Diploma and minimum 9 years. Military experience counts as professional experience
Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Linux systems and network administration
Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We do not sponsor employment visas for this role now or in the future
Active U.S. Department of Defense security clearance or the ability to obtain and maintain clearance
Strong communication and relationship-building skills across technical and non-technical teams
Ability to influence without authority, build support for ideas, and tailor messages based on stakeholders and downstream impact
Demonstrated ownership mindset, learning from successes and failures to continuously improve
Proven ability to lead, mentor, and energize cross-functional teams toward shared goals
Broad experience across compute, storage, network, server, operating systems, software, virtualization, collaboration tools, HPC, workstations, security tools, engineering applications, automation, and AI/LLM platforms
Deep expertise in at least one of: Linux server administration, High Performance Computing, virtualization, networking, or Windows server administration
Ability to evaluate alternate technologies, including AI/LLM solutions, analyze tradeoffs, and recommend secure, mission-focused implementations
Skilled at breaking down complex problems, documenting requirements, and estimating effort
Track record of introducing new technologies or processes that deliver measurable value
Demonstrated curiosity and continuous learning, especially in emerging technologies such as AI and LLMs
Familiarity with project management principles and execution practices
Exposure to ITIL, Agile, and service management tools (e.g., ServiceNow)
Strong negotiation skills to align stakeholders and present a unified perspective to teams
