Responsibilities
Architect cloud-native and hybrid infrastructure solutions aligned with mission, performance, availability, and cost objectives
Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives from on-premises environments to AWS or Azure
Design architectures supporting high availability, disaster recovery, fault tolerance, zero-trust principles, and open standards
Recommend and implement IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions based on workload needs and compliance requirements
Collaborate with security and compliance teams to meet FedRAMP, FISMA, and agency-specific standards
Develop architectural documentation, system designs, technical diagrams, and implementation roadmaps
Integrate Infrastructure-as-Code and CI/CD pipelines to automate deployments, configurations, and monitoring
Guide technical teams on cloud governance, access control, and tagging strategies
Act as a cloud subject matter expert for government stakeholders and internal teams
Qualification
Required
8+ years of experience in cloud architecture, implementation, and operations
At least 5 years supporting government IT cloud environments
Strong hands-on experience with AWS and/or Azure, including networking, IAM, storage, and automation
Proven experience leading cloud migration or modernization projects
Experience balancing performance, security, and cost in multi-tier architectures
Strong understanding of federal cloud security and compliance frameworks (FedRAMP, FISMA, NIST 800-53)
Experience designing disaster recovery and business continuity solutions
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field
U.S. Citizenship required with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Preferred
Professional-level AWS or Azure architecture certifications
Experience with hybrid cloud environments and secure cloud connectivity
Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or Bicep
DevSecOps pipelines and containerized platforms (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience supporting federal cloud enclaves or continuously monitored environments
Prior work supporting DHS, TSA, or USCIS environments
