Responsibilities
Build, manage, and expand a profitable commercial book of business while exercising meaningful underwriting authority
Review and assess complex submissions by analyzing exposures, pricing, financials, loss history, and overall risk characteristics
Establish and maintain strong partnerships with agency partners through regular communication and education around products, appetite, and underwriting guidelines
Collaborate closely with internal underwriting, marketing, and service teams to support business development and service quality
Provide guidance, coaching, and technical support to developing underwriters as part of a collaborative underwriting team
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in Insurance, Business, Risk Management, or a related discipline
Five or more years of experience underwriting commercial lines business – specifically Property, GL, WC, Auto, Umbrella
Demonstrated ability to analyze risk, make independent decisions, and communicate effectively with agents and internal stakeholders
Preferred
Professional insurance designations such as CPCU, AU, or CIC
