Responsibilities
Serve as a Senior PeopleSoft Functional Analyst supporting the Employees Retirement System of Texas (ERS) in a hybrid, on-site role (3 days/week in Austin)
Participate in a data conversion project, migrating from a legacy PeopleSoft application to a cloud-hosted solution
Work within an Agile/SCRUM environment, including daily stand-ups and maintaining Azure DevOps in line with ERS standards
Act as a primary functional resource for multiple PeopleSoft HRMS modules: HRMS, Base Benefits, Benefits Administration, Pension Administration, and Payroll
Gather and analyze business and system requirements, map data fields, and perform root-cause analysis of data issues in legacy systems
Research and resolve processing requirements and integration points between PeopleSoft and other upstream/downstream systems
Collaborate and communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including management, end-users, and technical teams
Demonstrate technical proficiency by reading PeopleCode, writing SQL, and analyzing system data, though no hands-on coding required
Utilize strong knowledge of PeopleSoft technical architecture, including past development experience (highly preferred)
Leverage advanced Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and strong SQL skills for data analysis and reporting
May act as a hands-on project team lead, managing tasks and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Perform additional duties as assigned by ERS leadership
Qualification
Required
6+ years recent hands-on PeopleSoft Functional Analyst experience (exclusive focus)
6+ years functional experience in at least one PeopleSoft module (HRMS, Benefits, Payroll, Pension)
8+ years technical understanding of PeopleSoft
5+ years project team experience utilizing Agile methodologies
5+ years strong SQL skills (Oracle and SQL Server)
10+ years in Information Technology
Preferred
2+ years prior PeopleSoft development experience
2+ years with PeopleTools (Application Engine, PeopleCode, SQR)
5+ years with Azure DevOps, legacy PeopleSoft conversions, and Defined Benefit Pension Plan systems
3+ years managing Scrum or Kanban teams
Scrum Master/Product Owner certification
Public sector and State of Texas client experience
