The Cost Specialist supports financial performance and cost control functions across major engineering and oil & gas projects, involving cost forecasts, variance analyses, and performance reports while collaborating with Project Managers and Finance teams.

Responsibilities
Develop and maintain project cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses
Monitor project expenditures and provide early warning on potential cost overruns
Support preparation of cost estimates and budgets for new projects and change orders
Collaborate with Project Managers, Finance, and Planning teams to deliver financial insights
Prepare and present cost performance reports to management and stakeholders
Review and validate invoices, purchase orders, and contracts for coding and budget compliance
Maintain cost control systems, ensuring data integrity within cost management software
Assist in cash flow forecasting and long-range project financial planning
Identify and recommend cost savings and efficiency improvements
Qualification
Required
Experience with major EPC or oil & gas operators
Proven background in project cost control, forecasting, and financial analysis
Experience using EcoSys, Power BI, and cost control systems
Strong understanding of project processes and cross-functional coordination
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred
Experience supporting large capital projects or multiple concurrent initiatives
Exposure to SAP or other enterprise cost reporting platforms
Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools
Professional certifications such as AACE CCP, PMP, or equivalent
Project scheduling familiarity and cost-to-schedule integration
Strong attention to detail and results-oriented mindset
