SNI Financial is partnering with a well-established real estate investment platform, seeking a high-impact Controller to shape the firm’s finance organization. This role will lead fund accounting, investor reporting, and performance analytics for institutional real estate investment funds, requiring deep real estate fund accounting experience and knowledge of NCREIF PREA Reporting Standards.

Human Resources

Responsibilities

Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP and NPRS
Oversee fund consolidations, journal entries, NAV calculations, and intercompany eliminations
Manage accounting for capital activity including contributions, distributions, and preferred returns
Coordinate and manage external audit and tax processes
Prepare and analyze fund and investment-level performance metrics (income, appreciation, leverage, IRR, time-weighted returns)
Support quarterly investor reporting packages and consultant deliverables
Coordinate performance and data submissions to pension fund consultants and institutional investors
Partner with portfolio management to interpret results, identify return drivers, and benchmark performance against NCREIF indices
Utilize and administer Yardi for property-level and fund-level accounting and reporting
Ensure accurate data integration between accounting and performance reporting systems
Lead or support automation and process improvement initiatives aligned with NPRS best practices
Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with partnership agreements, governance standards, and reporting requirements
Support side letter compliance and investor-specific reporting obligations
Develop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and best practices

Required

8–12+ years of real estate fund accounting experience
Strong exposure to institutional real estate investors and NPRS reporting
Public accounting managers with real estate investment clients will be considered
Deep understanding of NCREIF PREA Reporting Standards
Hands-on experience with Yardi
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and fair value accounting (ASC 820)
Advanced Excel and financial reporting skills
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

Preferred

CPA, MBA, or CFA preferred but not required
Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
Confident communicator with senior leadership and external stakeholders
Organized, deadline-driven, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
Collaborative mindset with a desire to help build and scale a platform

Benefits
