Responsibilities
Support customs related administrative work, audit and post entry work as primary functions, other compliance activities as required
Responsible for undertaking and executing day to day tasks relating to assigning Harmonized Tariff Numbers, Schedule Bs, ECCNs and identifying other data requirements for products in conjunction with Customs import/export regulations
Support management of timely and accurate import & exports in compliance with government regulations, corporate policies and procedures within the organization:
Monitor changes in tariff or duty related programs including but not limited to HTS, Schedule B, ECCN, license exemptions, CVD/ADD, Section 301, 201, CN duty exemptions
Evaluate impacts assess and execute activities to mitigate. Monitor any changes in sanctions, embargoes and country controls as well as evaluate, analyze, act on or manage actions on tasks; report as required
In coordination with Business Units, Client Customs Compliance manager and Client legal – coordinate qualification of goods, establish process and training and manage SPI (such as USMCA, GSP, etc.) related certificates and entry audits
Support post entry activity in coordination with Client Customs Compliance Manager and broker including but not limited to Post Summary Corrections, Protests, Prior Disclosures, Voluntary Tenders
Support classification and analysis and product dictionary maintenance by responding to inquiries, ensure all items have accurate product descriptions, appropriate tariff classifications, country of origins, ECCNs and free trade Agreement indicators. Where required coordinate binding rulings with Client Customs Compliance and legal
Execute audits related to imports, exports, classification, free trade agreements, etc. Monitor exports and export control activity, coordinate evaluation and application and maintenance of licenses and permits on behalf of the Business Unit and export service provider(s) if required
Position may support, develop processes, monitor and report on activity or requirements related to drawback or other duty/tax claims
Provide drawback and Business Unit management/finance information to facilitate refunds as needed
Position may support some CTPAT or other Trade Compliance functions as determined in the course of business
Qualification
Required
Experience in customs compliance and import-export classification activities
Knowledge of Harmonized Tariff Numbers, Schedule Bs, ECCNs, and other data requirements for products
Ability to monitor changes in tariff or duty related programs including HTS, Schedule B, ECCN, and license exemptions
Experience in evaluating impacts and executing activities to mitigate compliance risks
Ability to coordinate qualification of goods and manage SPI related certificates and entry audits
Experience in supporting post entry activities including Post Summary Corrections, Protests, and Voluntary Tenders
Ability to maintain accurate product descriptions, tariff classifications, country of origins, ECCNs, and free trade Agreement indicators
Experience in executing audits related to imports, exports, classification, and free trade agreements
Ability to monitor exports and export control activity, and coordinate evaluation and application of licenses and permits
Experience in supporting CTPAT or other Trade Compliance functions
