OPS Application Programmer/Developer
University of Florida is seeking an OPS Application Programmer/Developer to create and maintain C++-based program components. The role involves developing user interfaces, debugging software, and collaborating with product teams to enhance software performance.

Responsibilities
Develop C++-based program components for a user interface (UI), with focus on graphics processing of bridge finite element analysis models via DirectX application programming interfaces (APIs). Perform coding tasks assigned by senior programmers and managed through the BSI queuing system
Debug and troubleshoot software issues to improve performance and stability. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software. Optimize code for speed, memory usage, and overall performance. Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices and standards. Maintain and enhance existing software systems
Develop components of a C++ software packages for site characterization and geostatistical analysis of deep foundations. Compile, organize and document tasks, in coordination with engineers and other programmers, in the BSI queuing system
Maintaining DirectX graphics in BSI softwares, developing C++ based program components for user interface graphics processing with proficiency in DirectX11, linear algebra, calculus, MFC, and C++
Experience with Azure DevOps for efficient project management and collaboration
Provide technical assistance to users encountering issues with C++ software packages
Coordinate with the technical team to format and publish online the BSI Newsletter after every program release
Coordinate with the application developers to create and test installation packages for BSI software using Install Shield and distribute them via the BSI website
Manage and maintain the help manual in web and pdf format using FLARE, and publish the web version on the BSI website
Knowledge about Website Management, website security and Maintenance with SQL Knowledge a plus
Qualification
Required
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization, and three years of relevant experience, or an associate degree and five years of experience
Preferred
Strong proficiency in C++ and object-oriented programming
Experience with STL, templates, and modern C++ techniques
Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and memory management
Familiarity with debugging tools and performance profiling
Experience with version control (Git)
Familiarity with DirectX11
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite for video editing, document preparation, and basic design is a plus
